 |  Hidden Rain is a lower shinobi village, being allied with Grass, Leaf, Sand and Waterfall. As such it participates in the Chuunin Exam with these countries. In the Chuunin Exam Naruto participated in, no Rain team made it beyond the second exam test. Hidden Rain will do missions for countries outside its borders, with Wagarashi clan member Kyuuroku hiring Rain ninja to help him win the Todoroki shrine race in the Tea Country. The years of strife the country experienced finally drove it and the village to civil war. This embarrassing situation only increased their desire for secrecy. The two factions involved in the civil war are unclear, however one side is apparently led by Rain missing-nin Pein.

Pein  | |  Since the Leaf village(Konoha) lives in the Land of Fire, hence the name, the weather is perfect for growing crops and Surplus for the country, giving supplies and food needed for the village. Because of it's high military power, it is ranked the Most powerful country in the continent, next to the Sand village(Suna). The Hokage and three legendary sannin live here. The Hokage is mostly the most powerful shinobi in the village, and the Sannin are taught by the Hokage, so it's a pretty powerful village. It's hard to be near this is anyone is a missing ninja or akatsuki, due to it's power.

Gaara | |  Sunagakure no Sato (砂隠れの里, Village Hidden in the Sand) is the hidden village of the Land of Wind. As one of the five great ninja villages, Sunagakure has a Kage as its leader known as the Kazekage. The ninja from this village seem to specialize in Wind Release techniques and the Puppet Technique. As opposed to the village of the Hidden Leaf, shinobi residing within the Sand village heavily believe that the accomplishment of mission predominates the lives of the ninja trying to accomplish it, it is for this reason why Kankuro states that Sand shinobi aren't as merciful as those of the Leaf. Gaara, the current Kazekage and the former Jinchūriki of the One-Tailed Shukaku hails from this village. As do the legendary puppeteers Chiyo and Sasori.

Gaara | |  Kirigakure (霧隠れの里, Kirigakure no Sato?, lit. "Village Hidden in Mist") is the hidden village of the Land of Water. The leader of the village is known as the Mizukage. Madara Uchiha has been referred to as the Mizukage, though it is unclear when he held the title. The ninja in Kirigakure specialize in water-based jutsu. Kirigakure once used brutal methods to train its ninja, requiring prospective ninja to fight their comrades to the death. After Zabuza Momochi killed all the students in his class, however, the process was discontinued. Zabuza became part of the Seven Shinobi Swordsmen of the Mist, the strongest group of ninja in the village and signified by the unique swords they carry.
